After completing graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania in Primatology, Mike decided to change career paths to work in wildlife filmmaking. He is currently finishing his MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University. Mike’s scientific research focused on non-human primate vocal communication. In order to follow this line of research he needed to have a strong focus in acoustics and sound recording. When he began his graduate work in filmmaking, he found the background in acoustics allowed an impeccable transition into film sound. Mike has recorded sound for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, commercials for companies like Nike, and for several independent fiction films.
